Conduit Floor
The Conduit Floor is a small floor beneath Unknown where the ending cutscene takes place, and where the final boss of Hard Mode is fought. It consists of 3 rooms in a straight line, pitch black and completely empty save for an upgrade terminal in the last room: the conduit to Power Eternal.
Endings
In Normal Mode, the player enters the conduit and is offered Power Eternal as an upgrade, with the description "This is what you came for, isn't it?". Upon taking the upgrade, the conduit begins to draw in power before the screen fades to white and the credits roll.
In Hard Mode, Null is waiting in the second room and transforms into Monolith when the player enters, beginning the boss fight. If the player manages to defeat Monolith, they crash back into the Conduit Floor and can continue to the third room, where they destroy the Conduit in a cutscene followed by the Hard Mode credits and ending.
If the player has the Err: Integer Overflow Cartridge, the last room will be replaced by an elevator to Nowhere, regardless of difficulty. In this case, it's impossible to end the run on the Conduit Floor and the player must clear Nowhere to win.
Notes
- If the player dies on this floor, the report refers to the floor as "The Conduit". For the sake of clarity, this wiki instead uses "Conduit Floor".
- Internally, the game considers the Conduit Floor to be Floor 7, and Nowhere to be Floor 8, causing mechanics that scale with floor number to scale unusually high in Nowhere.
- Passive effects that trigger at the start of a floor (such as the Gun or Bandage Cartridges) still trigger on the Conduit Floor.
- It's possible to skip the Monolith boss fight by using Arena Blaster's Warped Teleporter active item, though it only has a 50% chance of working.
