Cartridges
Cartridges are a type of pickup that permanently upgrade the player's ship with a unique effect when obtained, similar to upgrades obtained from Upgrade Terminals.
Currently, there are 45 total cartridges in the game.

"Better gambling chances" | The odds of rolling a 1 or 6 are increased from 33% to 50% in Gambling Halls. | ||
"Recover HP when starting a new floor" | Adds 1 HP to the player's health when entering a new floor.
Does not appear on Intense or Sudden Death Lethality. | ||
"Bombs recharge faster" | Bombs recharge after two rooms, instead of the usual three.
Does not appear for Arena Blaster. | ||
"On taking a hit, sometimes drop a heart" | Has a 15% chance to drop a heart whenever the player takes damage. The heart will bounce around the room and can be collected for 1 HP, despawning if the player does not pick it up in time. Does not drop a heart if damage is negated by a shield, Magic Shield, or Autobomb.
Does not appear when playing on Sudden Death Lethality. | ||
"More curses, curses break faster" | Cursed weapons are added to the pool of room rewards, and they break 1.5 times faster. | ||
"Damage is dealt to HP Segments before HP" | Damage is dealt to HP segments before actual HP. This means an overall increase in effective HP, and it may be strategic to hold off on finishing a set of four parts before a boss. Damage taken to health segments still count as a hit.

"Increased multiplier gain" | Multiplier gain rate is doubled. | ||
"No Contact Damage" | Enemies that deal contact damage no longer do so. | ||
"Gain a powerful ally, but you gain 20% less debris" | The player gains a follower. It's a gangster hermit that will shoot at enemies while the player is holding the fire button, its damage scaling with the player's damage stat. In addition, the player gains 20% less debris from all sources. The amount of score gained is unaffected. | ||
"Attracts shopkeeps" | Adds a shop to Floor 6. Shop generation works the same as with other floors: there can be one or two shops, and shops can be of any type. For seeded runs, this completely changes the layout of Floor 6. | ||
"On dash, fire a shot at the nearest enemy" | It shoots a revolver-like shot directly at the enemy closest to the player, its damage scaling with the player's damage stat. This is not part of the weapon the player currently holds, but it does consume the same amount of ammo as a revolver shot (0.4% of base ammo capacity). | ||
"Can go into debt while shopping" | Once in debt, no more items can be purchased. Does not work on arcades or life shops. Has no effect in the Special Offer boss fight. | ||
"Crates cost less to open" | Crate costs are reduced by 33%. | ||
"Increased damage to bosses." | Grants an additive 10% damage boost while fighting a boss. This means it also affects any non-boss enemies spawned during boss fights, such as the Heavy Sentinels spawned by Reactor. | ||
"Electrostatic aura" | When shooting, the player will also deal damage over time to an enemy near themselves. Damage scales with the player's damage stat. | ||
"???" | Unlocks Floor 7 if the player clears Floor 6 while carrying it. Can only be found in a special secret room labeled UNKNOWN that only connects to one other room on the floor. This secret room can more easily be located using a map. Once loops have been unlocked, this cartridge will not appear in any more runs, and instead having loops enabled will give the player the cartridge from the start of the run. | ||
"Bomb damage+" | Bombs that don't deal damage now deal damage, and those that already did deal more damage than before.

"Your Chaos weapons have 3 keywords" | Every weapon will have 3 keywords applied instead of 2. When the player's ammo is at 0%, their weapon will have no keywords applied, gaining no effects from Garbage Data. | ||
"Detects its kin" | Shows where minibosses and the boss room are on the map. Only applies when entering a new floor. | ||
"Clear bullets on room end" | Once all enemies in a room are dead, their bullets turn into debris.
Does not appear for Arena Blaster. | ||
"Start each floor with a random weapon" | Spawns a weapon with 2 keywords in the starting room. This will break after leaving the room without picking it up. | ||
"Bombs open doors" | Bombs can open normal doors mid-combat.
Does not appear for Arena Blaster. | ||
"Hats for all" | All ghosts now wear hats. This also makes ghosts move slightly slower and shoot less revenge bullets upon death. | ||
"Gain a shield when max life increases" | Unlike the similar mechanic in non-Mild Lethality, shields gained from Ironheart are not salvaged if the player already has a shield.
Does not appear on Intense or Sudden Death Lethality. | ||
"Discover rooms in a 3x3 radius." | When the player enters a room, all rooms diagonal of that room will be visible in addition to those that are normally visible. | ||
"Above 2.5 multiplier, item drops are cloned" | Dropped by Drdlord. Two of the same room reward will appear instead of one, and the player can take both. | ||
"Above 2.5 multiplier, ammo use is halved" | Dropped by Drdlich. | ||
"Above 2.5 multiplier, take no damage" | Dropped by Drdknight. If a player has this cartridge along with a shield and Autobomb, the order of use of each of these will be the shield, then Magic Shield, then Autobomb. | ||
"Above 2.5 multiplier, deal 20% more damage" | Dropped by Drdskull. Damage boost is additive. | ||
"Shops contain an extra item" | Only applies to shops the player has not yet accessed. If the player uses Delivery Drone to restock a shop after having picked up Member Card, the extra item will be added. | ||
"Reduced multiplier loss" | Multiplier loss is halved when taking a hit. This also applies to the multiplier loss from bombing in Intense or Sudden Death Lethality. | ||
"Finds secrets" | Shows the location of secret rooms on the map when entering a room adjacent to them for the first time. Entering an already explored room will not reveal the secret room.
Does not appear for Arena Blaster. | ||
"Can't take double damage" | Negates extra damage from red bullets and other attacks that normally do multiple hit points of damage. Does not negate Curse of Pain.

"Hack shops, troves and terminals" | Allows the player to hack into shops for a 25% discount (multiplicative with other discounts), troves for greater weapon/utility options, and upgrade terminals for an additional upgrade option. Failing a hack will damage the player, and anything that is hackable can only be successfully hacked once.
Shops refreshed by Delivery Drone may be hacked again, as many times as the player is able to activate the effect. | ||
"Regain all active charges on entering a new floor" | Entering a new floor fills the player's entire charge meter, up to 6 charge or 12 with Capacity. | ||
"When hit, reflect nearby projectiles" | Shoots the bullets back in the opposite direction that they were traveling when you are hit. Only applies to nearby bullets, and cannot reflect bullets that cannot be destroyed by the Sword.

"Lowered Dash Cooldown" | -- | ||
"Your basic weapon has piercing" | Your basic weapon will pierce one enemy.
Works on Overlord's basic weapon, making the projectile pierce. This is the only way to get a sword with piercing. Does not appear for Chaos. | ||
"Smaller floors, more items" | Future floors will generate with 20% fewer rooms, rewards spawn 50% more often (the higher chance of rewards is applied as soon as the cartridge is obtained). Special rooms can now generate adjacent to each other.
If obtained in The Temple, it applies immediately and shortens any unexplored branches from three paths to two. The Path of Pain is unaffected. | ||
"Doubled swarmer damage" | Can also spawn without currently holding the keyword, but not when the Swarmer Pack is disabled. | ||
"Your minimum multiplier is 1.5" | Dropped by Chaos God. Your multiplier is increased to 1.5 if it is lower than that when you pick Templegame up. | ||
"Better troves" | Weapon troves now spawn one more weapon than they otherwise would have. Where by default troves would drop 1-3 weapons, they now drop 2-4.
Upgraded troves give a choice between 2 HP and 100% ammo instead of the usual 1 HP or 50% ammo. | ||
"Recover charge when damaged" | When damage is taken, the charge meter is increased by one, or more if more damage was taken, such as from double damage attacks or the Curse of Pain. | ||
"Dramatic entrance" | When entering a room, fires a large, high damage laser shot in the direction the player entered. This lingers slightly, and can pierce unlimited enemies. It is roughly as wide as a door. Damage scales with the player's damage stat. | ||
"Double special bomb gain" | Any bomb pickups that are not normal bombs or double bombs will now give the player two of that type of bomb.
