"Ah, ran into that old security mech, did you? 'Armor Tac'. That thing is stuffed with weapons, and just never gives up. So if you run into it again... good luck?"
Armor Tac is one of four bosses that can appear within the Maintenance System. Throughout the fight, it is constantly walking with its four legs that resemble the Iron Fist weapon.
Attack Patterns
Phase 1
Description
Video
Armor Tac enters the arena by falling from above the screen, and then grabbing the walls on the sides with its legs. It will carry the momentum of its fall, such that part of its body goes below the screen before it start to spring back upwards.
Armor Tac fires a spiral of bullets from its core, which can be clockwise or counterclockwise, chosen at random. Armor Tac will always use this attack first, and after using any other attack, if it's at the top of the arena.
Armor Tac fires a large bullet followed by 5 small bullets, from each of its feet, one at a time. The large bullet is aimed at the player, and the small bullets form an expanding circle with the large bullet.
The first leg to fire may be on the left or the right, from there it will alternate.
Armor Tac will position its body above the player while opening up its core, and then quickly fire a lightning laser and a spread of bullets of various sizes from the opening. The bullets will spread outwards, neatly spaced from the other bullets of the same size, with the mid-sized bullets being the slowest. This pattern is always the exact same, aside from where Armor Tac initiates it.
Armor Tac decides where it's going position itself, at the start of the attack.
Armor Tac lifts two of its feet from one wall, merges them together, and slams them back onto the wall, producing a spread of bullets that come from all across the wall and go towards the other side of the arena, with slightly varying angles.
This attack will not hit you if you're hugging the wall that gets slammed.
Be careful if Armor Tac uses this attack at the bottom of the screen; one of the legs used to slam the wall may get close to the top of the arena before taking another step.
Armor Tac stops walking, and then jumps upwards, lifting all of its feet from the walls. It falls down to the bottom of the arena, and then slams all of its feet back onto the walls at the same time, each foot producing a thick ring of various bullets on impact. It then continues walking as normal.
At the bottom of the arena, Armor Tac's attack pattern is different- It cannot use the laser attack and has a new attack in place of the spiral. It also has another new attack, in place of this one, to bring it back to the top of the arena.
The attack in place of the spiral is a simple random spew of small bullets. It is technically aimed at the player, but has a massive spread. Like the spiral, it will be used after any other attack while Armor Tac is at the bottom of the arena.
After being on the bottom of the arena for an unspecified amount of time, Armor Tac will slowly walk back up to the top. As it does so, its legs will shoot 4 bullets in random directions each time they hit the wall. These random directions include directions that have the bullets immediately disappear into the wall.
Phase 2
Armor Tac loses all of its feet and falls offscreen. It then rises back into the arena, now floating. It should be noted that the player can still take contact damage from the boss during this transition.
Description

Video
Armor Tac fires a dense spiral of small bullets from its core.
Armor Tac thrusts itself towards one of the walls and bounces back and forth for a total of 4 slams. Each slam produces bullets from the wall like phase 1's slam attack, but with only small bullets, and also has Armor Tac shoot a ring of 8 bullets from itself.
Like the slam attack from phase 1, the player can hug a wall to be safe from the bullets produced from that wall.
The angle of the 8-bullet ring is random.
Armor Tac opens the gaps between each of its quarters, and fires a lightning laser from each gap while rotating.
It will start rotating in one direction but quickly turn to the other direction, and maintain that direction for the rest of the attack.
During this attack, Armor Tac produces rings of bullets that collapse inwards before spreading out.
It produces 2 rings at a time with 5 bullets in each ring. It will do this 6 times throughout the attack.

Hard Mode
When fought in hard mode, Armor Tac gains no new attacks, but has bullets added to almost every pattern. Most notably, the laser attack from phase 1 has a larger laser, and the spiral attack from Phase 2 gains a spray of double damage bullets aimed directly towards the player.
Notes
- If the player fires at the feet of the boss, they can be "broken", which gives scrap and takes away their contact damage. Considering their darkened appearance and the removed contact damage, they probably just retreat to the background.
- Originally, breaking the feet was intended to be the only way one could see Phase 2.
- Armor Tac is a reference to a Fraxy boss called Iron Fist, as is the weapon of the same name. The Iron Fist boss may have been a reference to a boss in a game called Hero Core.
- Armor TAC has a bug where if one pops Quickening or kills the boss as it bounces into the screen and before it settles to fire its attacks, it will never load the boss health bar. As a result, Armor TAC will, depending on when you manage to kill it, either hover forever in the middle of the arena[1] or fly off and out of the screen[2]. You will be softlocked and unable to continue until you either reset entirely or exit to the menu and reset the floor.
