Bestiary Entry | "The biggest hothead of all sentinels, going down in a blaze of glory." |

"The Firewall isn't just an entity, it's a place. It's where things go to burn. Stay away from anything that looks even remotely like it could spew fire. Because it probably will."
Firewall is a boss of the Bellows. Its design is an evolution of the Sentinel-type enemies.
Attack Patterns
Phase 1
Description
Video
A randomly positioned alert, followed by a pillar of fire bullets descends from the top of the screen. The random alert and pillar of bullets are repeated once more. Then, two alerts followed by flames descend from above, just to the left and right of the screen's center, as Firewall comes charging downward, revealing the source of the flames. The positions of the last two, simultaneous flame pillars will always be the same, as Firewall always spawns into the same position at the start of the fight.
The vents lining the left and right walls of the arena eject bursts of three fire bullets starting from the top of the screen and alternating left and right, down the screen. The flames all travel at the same speed, but generate in slightly different horizontal positions and travel at varying angles, creating uneven, random patterns.
Firewall spews columns of flames from the flamethrowers on its flanks and bounces lightly left to right, causing the pillars to waver with the movement, forcing the player to travel in tandem with Firewall in order to dodge. The move continues until Firewall has swayed back and forth about three times.
Firewall launches a large bullet from its center downward in a straight line. As the bullet rapidly descends, it leaves trails of bullets that shoot off to the left and right, with significantly fewer traveling upward, behind it.
A burst of several flame bullets shoots from either the left or right vents that line the arena's walls. They burst in groups of threes and travel at all travel at the same speed, but can be generated in slightly different horizontal positions and fire off at slightly different angles.
Firewall shoots two trails of bullets from its center, to the left and right at a wide angle. The trails bounce off the left and right walls, at an angle similar to that at which they were launched, intersecting with each other near the center of the screen and remaining on-screen for two wall-bounces before departing through the bottom of the arena.
Phase 2
Firewall enters its second phase when its remaining health drops to 33% or lower.
Description
Video
A wave of flames erupts from one side of the screen, and then the other, forcing the player into the center of the screen. At the same time, Firewall shoots four arcs of small bullets, followed by an arc of medium-sized bullets, two times.
Large fireballs rapidly burst from the centers of Firewall's flamethrowers, in groups of five. Bursts release at varying angles, resulting in multiple slightly rotating streams of projectiles.
Firewall fires several tightly-packed streams of bullets, in a star-shaped pattern, from its flamethrowers. The first flurry of bullets quickly rotates roughly 30° counter-clockwise. The second flurry rotates roughly 30° clockwise.
Large fireballs fire from the vents on the sidewall, one at a time. A trail of smaller flames follows each fireball. Upon impact with the opposite wall, the fireball explodes into smaller flames, that slowly launch outward from the wall at varying angles. Some of these smaller flames are destructible.
