Ice Wyrm is one of four bosses that can be encountered in the Maintenance System. The battle is broken up into two phases.

Hard Mode Differences
|
Ice Wyrm fires three waves of small, medium, and indestructible large bullets. The waves are made up of six groups of large bullets, and their following two medium bullets and two small bullets. In the first and third waves, the groups of large bullets will have two shots in them, and the second wave's groups will have three. All bullets travel in a splitting pattern from where they were fired. This attack can lead into attack two or four.

Ice Wyrm moves to the top of the screen and rains down icicles from its segments. Broken segments will fire laser spears instead. This attack always leads into attack three.

Broken segments can also fire six revolver shots in a rectangle, or three shots in a line.
|
Ice Wyrm fires several very loose spreads of small shots. The final spread will be replaced by a pattern of five columns of medium bullets, with the inner three spearheaded by large bullets. This entire sequence repeats three times before the attack is finished, and always leads into attack one.

After the third volley, Ice Wyrm will finish the attack with a stream of revolver shots.

Ice Wyrm starts circling around the edges of the screen counterclockwise starting in the east, firing large bullets behind itself that drift off the screen. When the Ice Wyrm reaches one of the cardinal directions, it will fire a ring of small and medium bullets. This does not happen immediately with north, only firing north's bullets on the second visit.

Instead of firing bursts when at the cardinal directions, Ice Wyrm shoots large and small bullets into the center throughout the attack.
|
Once Ice Wyrm reaches one third of its max health, it will enter phase two and its head will break.

Hard Mode Differences

At all times during phase two, even during other attacks, pairs of cold bullets are fired outwards from Ice Wyrm's neck.
|
|
Bullets are instead fired from its tail.
|
Ice Wyrm chases the player, before pausing to release a ring of medium shots from its head.
|
|
The ring is much larger, and has an additional ring of lumpy shots in the middle.
|
Ice Wyrm stops moving, and fires a continuous helix of bullets at the player. This is indicated by a large cone of warning markers before it is fired.
