"Ah, so you met the Ringleader. The other ghosts flock to it like moths to a flame. No one knows what it was in life. A king? A general? Who knows? It might seem scary, but isn't very dangerous on its own. If you can, try to bring explosive or piercing weaponry. *That ought to keep things smooth*."

Ringleader is one of four bosses that can be encountered in Excavation. Often considered the easiest of the four, it uses a relatively tame amount of bullets as well as ghosts and big ghosts to attack the player. Its name refers to its tendency to have ghosts circle around it during various attacks. This particular mode of attack is an evolution of big ghosts, which simply have ghosts surround them when in the same room.

| Ringleader slinks into the background and releases a group of ghosts that chase the player.
While the ghosts are still alive, Ringleader will remain in the background, shooting bullets at the player.

| Ringleader summons a group of ghosts around it that shoot a large amount of bullets at the player.
At the same time, Ringleader shoots bullets from its center outward.

| Ghosts will come out of Ringleader at a steady rate while it shoots bullets in the direction of the player.
Its movement will affect the movement of the ghosts similarly to how your movement affects weapons that have the Align keyword.

| A ring of ghosts surrounds Ringleader and begins rapidly rotating and shooting bullets outwards, forcing the player to stay near Ringleader.

Hard Mode
- The hard mode version of Ringleader shoots more bullets with each attack. The attack with the large bullet loses its large bullet in return for a shotgun spray of mid-sized grey bullets and blood bullets.
Notes
- Ringleader is the source of an in-joke in the speedrunning and racing community, where some commentators or speedrunners will comment on how they never remember the name or the existence of this particular boss, due to how quickly and easily it can be defeated.
