Special Offer is a Seal bossfight against a mech-riding Bloke that can only be found in runs until he is defeated once. After being beaten, the fight can only be accessed via the Mirror, and will no longer be able to be accessed during runs. Atypical compared to other bosses, the objective of the fight is to damage an item floating about the room, depleting its cost (starting at 999999G or 666666G if the player possesses the Discount upgrade) until the player has enough Debris to purchase it.

The encounter is initiated by finding his Seal on sale in Bloke's Shop after Overlord has been defeated and Special Offer itself has not. The pickup will generate randomly in Excavation and the Archives, but is guaranteed to appear in Bloke's Shop in the Maintenance System, Bellows, and Sanctum.

Attack Patterns

Special Offer tends to use the attacks listed below in quick succession to each other. Often, when using its any but the fist bump, both hands will commit the attack action before moving on to a new attack, but this is not always the case.

Description Video
Special Offer's fists align vertically with the player's ship, pull back for a moment, and then come together, colliding in the center of the screen. The collision generates a burst of swirling bullets, medium-sized bullets, and flame bullets (some destructible). SpecialOfferAttack1.gif
A fist aligns with the player vertically and then rockets straight into the side of the screen. As the fist is in motion, it emits a generously-spaced trail of long bullets that appear above and below its path. Those spawned above the path move straight upward, those below straight downward.

When the fist collides with the wall, a line of small bullets bursts from along the length of the entire wall. The paths of the small bullets are straight, but seem randomly determined.

SpecialOfferAttack2.gif
A fist makes a finger-gun in the direction of the player, makes a clicking noise, and then fires a large, medium, and small bullet in the direction of the player from the tip of the finger-gun. At the same time, medium-sized swirling bullets and small bullets burst outward from the tip of the finger. SpecialOfferAttack3.gif
A fist makes a finger-gun in the direction of the player. The tip of its finger begins to glow and a danger indicator appears spanning from the finger to the player. A moment after, the finger-gun fires a wide laser blast. Simultaneously, a burst of diamond-shaped medium-sized bullets and small bullets emerge from the tip of the finger, spaced out at relatively small angles. SpecialOfferAttack4.gif

Notes

  • The damage done to the seal item is much higher than the damage done to other enemies, leading to much lower actual health than what the price would suggest.
    • Damage done to the seal is 225 * Damage% per shot. Therefore, when the player is at their base damage and Discount is not applied, the amount of shots to bring Special Offer down to 1GP will be that equivalent to dealing 4,444 damage normally. The same logic is used for calculating the approximate HP with Discount applied.
  • The savings from fully lowering the price of defeating Special Offer to 1G may be considered by veteran players to be worth the extra risk needed.
  • Bloke is a member of the Council, as indicated by his trademark shades being present on one of the Council member statues and him being in possession of one of the Seals needed to reach Forbidden.
    • The statue bearing his shades being the one giving the Blessing of Earth is further proof that he is the Geolord of the Council.

Trivia

  • When fought during a run, Bloke's Seal will appear as the item inside the bubble that floats around the arena. When fought in the Mirror, the Seal is replaced by a strange looking face.
    • The strange looking face has commonly been used as a placeholder element in the beta branch of the game. It is also used as the boss portrait in the mirror for all locked fights.
  • Bloke will be wearing bandages in any further appearances in the run that the player completes the Special Offer battle.
